Every year, the Georgia Tech Alumni Association honors 40 alumni under 40 years old who are shaping the world and inspiring others with their innovations. School of Materials Science and Engineering Adam Jakus has been named to the 2024 class of 40 Under 40.
Jakus is a Double Jacket MSE graduate, earning his bachelor’s degree in 2009 and master’s in 2010. Since graduating, Jakus has become an entrepreneur, inventor, and author. He holds a dozen patents and has authored several publications, including book chapters and communications on 3D printing and tissue engineering
Jakus serves as the founding CEO of the biotechnology and biofabrication consulting firm BioThera3 Advising & Consulting. The company works with startups as well as mid to large-sized biotech and pharma organizations, drawing on technical and strategic experience navigating the complex web of stakeholders in biotech and pharma companies.
Jakus is also the founder and former chief technology officer of Dimension Inx Corp, a company focused on advanced biomaterials and therapeutics. He serves as an executive-in-residence for numerous organizations and is passionate about mentoring young scientists and engineers.
Jakus said his favorite memory from his time at Tech was hearing, “He’s a wizard!” as he performed a liquid CO2 levitating magnet demo for kids outside the Student Center.
